One of the most exciting things about my career is that every transaction, every experience, and every
client is different. My objective as a professional is to manage different personalities while maximizing
value in a transaction. One of my most recent transactions left me feeling proud of what I do and my
client was astounded by the results. I was recently called in to present my capabilities and services to a
home owner in the Rockwood Village neighbourhood (Mississauga). Once I arrived I was greeted by a
very kind father and daughter duo who owned the home together. This father/daughter duo was very
organized, knew exactly what they wanted, what they expected, and were very detailed. I knew this
right away when they pulled out 2 pages of challenging questions! They wanted their home sale to be
smooth and to go off without a glitch - NOT ONE! As I was answering their questions they indicated that
I was one of four top producing agents who they had selected to interview – I knew I had to perform and
the competition was tough! After all interviews were done, I was happy to hear that I was awarded the
listing! When I asked what separated me from my competition the sellers indicated that it was because I
was very organized, had a strong personality (not sure if I like that), and I had the highest value for the
home. Hmmm, so you're telling me I saw the highest value for the home and all the other realtors
thought your value was lower...I ended up thinking that's a bit scary, what have I gotten myself into? I
now have been awarded a listing to very detail oriented/savvy clients who want everything done
beyond perfectly within a short time frame. I began to question if I had over valued the property, not to
mention my valuation was almost $65,000 higher than my competition. I started my full marketing
program on day one and I SOLD the house in 3 days with multiple offers OVER ASKING - actually $70,000
over my competitions value – THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY!!
Lessons learned: Do not doubt yourself and stay true to your beliefs/statistics. My clients are happy,
the buyer is happy and I am proud of what I do and feel great that I am out there able to help you too!
